Effect Quality
Overview
Effects determine the quality of visual effects and lighting in the game. Effect Quality Editing can be used to set the quality of visual effects, so that players can better experience the game atmosphere. However, it should be noted that the higher the quality of the effect set, the lower the performance may be.
Project Preset Config Files
Effect Quality Config Files
Click Config (Menu Bar) -> Project Settings to open the Project Settings window. Select the Effect Quality Settings tab, and the right panel will be shown. Click the button on the right side of the Config Map property to open the File Browser window, select the target config file, and click OK.
Multiple Effect Configs
Right-click the Effect Quality Settings tab to add config or cancel the currently selected preset effect in the Project Settings window. Double-click to check different config names to apply the corresponding preset effects.
Click different config names to view the corresponding config details. Right-click on the config name to delete the config or cancel the currently selected preset effect.
Global Default Effect Configs
Click Windows -> Default Effect to open the Default Effect window where various global effects can be edited.
Effect Quality Volume Objects
Click Create Game Object -> Volumes -> Quality Volume to open the Select Template window.
Select a Quality Volume Object template in the Library panel on the left. Click the effect as needed to enable under Enable Effect on the right to customize effects. You can also use the shortcut options Select All and Cancel All below to select and cancel all effects with just one click (Note: Cancel All is selected by default here. When you click to select an effect under Effect Enable, the system will automatically jump to check the Custom option). Finally, click the Use Template button to create a new Quality Volume Object and use the object data from the selected template; or click the Use No Template button to create, it will use the default values rather than the object data in the template.
Click the created Quality Volume Object in the Hierarchy panel, and select LFogLinear in the Inspector panel. You can see that the effect checked during creation is currently enabled. If unchecked, it is disabled by default. Other properties can also be edited under Property.
Note: The processing order of Effect Quality Editing is that the preset config replaces the global config, and the Effect Quality Volume Objects take precedence over the global config.
